Her life of course intersects with one of my (semi-mythical) heroes: Robin Hood. Or, at least they intersect in many of the stories, like in the 2010 Russell Crowe version I watched a couple of nights ago 🤣
The 1980s series with Michael Praed (and then with Jason Connery) are campy, but as far as I am concerned, they are canonical! That and the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes are my favorites of all time!
A small point but you meant Richard I, not III. Anyway, well worth doing an article on her, history is fascinating. I did my own '1066 and all that' take on Kings and Queens of England.
I understand completely. I had a lifetime of report writing as a building surveyor so had to train myself to self edit. I did have secretaries to type from dictation and they might pick up some things.
I type in Word first then copy and paste. I will probably proof read at least three times, long articles maybe 7-10 times. I am careful with comments too and anything lengthy or contentious I spend quite a bit of time on,
I still make small errors though. At least one can go back and correct once one spots them.
Have seen The Lion In Winter? Katherine Hepburn plays an amazing Eleanor of Aquitaine alongside Pete O’Toole as King Henry ll. It's one of my favorite movies. The music is phenomenal as well! I highly recommend watching for those who haven't seen it!

Trust me. I glossed over a LOT. It would have been twice as long I reckon if I’d gone over everything. It’s pretty amazing how much of her life is known despite the time period she lived in.
Great piece on an interesting historical figure, really drew me in!
I enjoyed this article very much; thank you.

I always loved the Robin Hood cartoon with the Fox.
I’ve not actually watched that version of Robin Hood. I always feel like the film versions haven’t been that good.

Oooo crap. I’m not very good at editing. And by editing I make sure it’s all spell checked and then o make sure it reads okay.

Thank you very much. I shall read that when I have time.
You did a fine job encapsulating this story and the brevity is appreciated. I’ve been interested in Eleanor for ages and loved this .
Imagine traveling in those days ?
She led a cclorful and heroic life!
Stories like this would make history more interesting for school kids, don’t you think?
