Haha, weirdly enough it’s one of the reasons my cousin and I could always play Power Rangers together. He always wanted to be Tommy and I wanted to be Jason.
I was jealous of the gold shield though. Usually we shoehorned a way that I could have one too.
As I was reading this I was thinking you must be my son’s age…then you said your age and you two are the exact same age…lol…it’s very reminiscent for me because I watched all those shows with him…and loved them all…our faves were X-Men, Thunder Cats, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Spider Man, Duck Tales, Dark Wing Duck…but did you ever get to watch Count Duckula? That is by far my favorite…there was a lot of adult humor it!!!
Anyway, Thanks for the trip down memory lane with my son…good times…made me smile big!!! 😘
I liked the first season of Gargoyles a lot. Since we were behind the Iron Curtain, there was no access to western animated series, and only much later we could watch some. These, however, were on VHS tapes and not complete, also poorly dubbed.
I was getting lucky a lot
Man, the opening of that Power Rangers theme brings back some memories. I was always a Red Ranger fan even after Tommy joined the team.
You ever read any of BOOM! Power Rangers comics? I skimmed one for nostalgia purposes, but found myself getting sucked into the story.
I reminder being 7 and EVERYONE fighting to be the Red Ranger until Tommy joined. It’s a shame he’s dead.
I never read any Power Rangers comics. I do remember reading Sonic The Comic though.

I remember my brother having the white rangers sword that spoke. I also think he had The DragonZord

I’m glad I brought back some nice memories and it sounds like your son had a class childhood!!!
I almost forgot He Man…heheheh…come on, admit it!!! Y’all watched it!!!
Yeah I watched that!! Seriously I’m gonna have to do a part 2 I think lol.
This was highly popular in the early 1980s. In Brazil, where I was born and raised.
Was it ever translated to English?

Jesus I’ve never seen that!! How old is that?
My old band would do X-men and Power Rangers for the intros to our set. We got so much shit from the old heads about it, but the younger kids got it.
That would have been class!!! I would have got it!!
Being not-tough-guys in a tough-guy scene - that kind of stuff put a target on our back, ha
And I bet you rose up to the occasion!!
I will say that you Brits always were outstandingly respectful in the States (with one major exception, but we don’t talk about that fat fuck).
Oh we got in many fights. Tough guys would come from other states to charge us up, trouble sought us out.
