I'm going to do everything you mentioned and more! New hobby, writing a new book, growing "something", raising chickens, painting AND building something in addition to fantasizing about doing all those things which I will never end up doing at all. I'm off to a great start. So many imaginarylutions!

Good!!! It’s why I love my hobby (despite it being expensive) as you build the models, paint them and then game with them and that’s not even mentioning the lore.

Imaginarylutions... great, love that word 🙂

The credit card bills for many families arrive at this time. Christmas must be paid for.

That is shit. I try my best to put away a minimum of £50 (or what I can spare) each month to stop this.

My mum has already brought some of next years gifts in the Boxing Day sales.

I used to get small things in sales or stores closing, put a sticky note on them with some names of people I knew would like a particular item, all in a box and come birthdays or Christmas I didn’t have to rush and pay twice as much.

I also suffer more from the “going back to work after 2 week break” blues

It's shit isn't it. It's my second day back and I still feel meh.

No January blues here, never had them. Only New Year’s resolution is NOT to have a NY resolution. Keeps it nice and simple

It's usually February that gets rough for me, as winters are so long here. I call it the Month of Darkness.

If you are able to build a cabin in the woods and get a wood stove. Chop wood for your fires during the day.getting sunlight fresh air and exercise . If you can't do that. Get an axe and find somewhere in the woods where you can have a nice bonfire.

I'm going to learn to shoot in 2024 and maybe buy a gun! Yay! Also, I never knew that January 15 was considered the saddest day for people. I'm going to look back through my journals and see if that has been true for me. Thank you for adding a little structure to my day. Happy New Year Vulkan!

It’s the 3rd Monday of January. This year it just happens to be the 15th.

Ooo do you know what gun you’ll buy? Stay safe with it though. Trigger safety and all that.

If you do find something in your journals, you’ll have to share (nothing too personal though) if you have had bad days on the 3rd Monday.

Happy new year to you. I hope 2024 Is amazing for you.

Ah got it. thanks.

I have no idea re: gun. I will stay safe.

I looked through my journals dating back to 2008. Turns out I was intermittently depressed all year, every year! hooray for me lol.

At least we have Substack!

😂😂😂 hooray for you. It always makes me sad when I hear people say they spent time during the year depressed. I always wish I could just take that away for them and bear it myself.

I’m told I’m such a robot that I wouldn’t even notice if I was depressed or not 😂.

I'll send you mine overseas. It's worth the shipping cost 😂

I’ll happily take it and pay for it if it meant you had an easier life and it made things just that tiny bit easier fighting for your child.

You just made my day. 🥹
