Watching Harry Potter movies during Christmas time is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. Loved your post and the coolest definition of what a teacher is. Couldn't agree more that teaching teenage kids is its own form of hell. But, I do love teaching small kids and adults.

What I like is that you’re a teacher in your own way on here. I learn from every one of your posts. The same as all the other Financial Stacks on here.

Have you been a teacher before?

After graduating from college, I travelled to Turkey, where I taught English as a 2nd language for 3 years, absolutely loved it. Was teaching little kids, mostly. Taught middle school for 6 months and I had an existential crisis. I was also teaching corporate clients who needed to improve their english speaking and presentation skills. I had a blast.

You actually brought a really good point, I never actively think about my substack to be teaching people about finance, but I guess this is one of those beautiful spilled over effects and that makes me happy.

That’s bloody amazing. So you’re at the very least bilingual? I was always useless at languages.

As a sailor I can order a beer in every language to have ever existed 😂.

I learn loads from your Stack. You should do YouTube/Rumble tutorials on various financial stuff.

Knowing how to order beer in every language is the most important skillset for an adult. I am actually planning on expanding shorter form content on other platforms like youtube/insta etc.

As for languages, I am fluent in Turkish, and I do speak 6 other languages, no bragging intended, just all the places life took me to. Plus, being an Indian, you are already born at least a bilingual.

You should deffo be crowing to the roof tops about that!! What languages?

Do you speak Navy? We have our own language. It’s called Jack Speak lol.

When you do release on YouTube then I’ll be subscribing.

I would learn to Jack Speak, I haven't learnt a new language in over 10 years, so I might be a little slow.

Other than English and Turkish, I speak Hindi, Bengali, French (cuz I studied in high school in France, father got posted there), German (2nd or 3rd language in high school in Paris) and Russian (went to study abroad there)

One of my favorite teachers used story and experience such as you stated you do along with humor. Sounds like you are back in your element and not having to keep watch. What season or which wife are you on with The Tudors?

I do enjoy it loads!! Plus I inject modern politics into a little as well. One girl was like orange man bad. 14 weeks later she was like “ he’s not as bad as I thought” 😂😀.

I’m on season one. He’s trying to seduce Anne Boleyn. I always forget how beautiful Natalie Dormer is.

Orange man isn't so bad. Oh season 1, he hasn't started really hacking his way to an heir yet, Elizabeth 1st is still my favorite Tudor aside from Henry 7th, but yes Natalie Dormer is beautiful but Cavil as Charles Brandon whoo! Lol.

Learning was easy when it made sense to learn what they teach. If not I had a hard time, because I couldn't see the point in learning stuff I'm not interested in.

Yeah I remember being like that as a kid. I NEVER listened in my religious education lessons.

“Woke curriculum” anybody using that verbiage should be relegated to their own private island somewhere north of the 85th parallel.
